ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Objective: To explore Wang Xing-Kuan’s rule of prescriptions for Coronary Heart Disease (CHD). Methods: In this study, 267 medical records were collected from the outpatient departments of the first aliated hospital of the Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) by using a digital camera. Then, we standardized the terminology of herbs and established Excel database. Finally, the descriptive statistics of prescription and the association rules of herbs were analyzed using Weka 3.6 software. Results: (1) Clinical herbal formulae mainly include cathartic and tonic herbs. (2) The credibility of combination of herbs is always higher than 0.90, which were the combination between danshen root or Chinese thorowax root with the tonifying qi yin herbs or the eliminating phlegm and bloodstasis-removing herbs. (3) The credibility of combination of similar herbs which is always higher than 0.65, which were used in treatment of heart and liver, such as debark peony root with golden thread are used to treat heart, turmeric root tuber with Chinese thorowax root are used to regulate liver. (4) The herbs that Prof. Wang used to treat CHD are quite mild and the dosage of herbs is normal, not less or more. Conclusion: Results indicate that liver-heart conjunction treatment, catharsis and tonic in combination, and using mild herbs are Wang Xing-Kuan’s rule of prescriptions for CHD.
