However, the parallel scheme in previous work [7] is very naive and simple. It just divides the images and distributes them to different cores. Some other important facts (such as cache contention, load-balance and so on) which are crucial for the performance of multi-core systems are not taken into account. We call this parallel scheme Coarse-grained Parallel Edge Detection (CPED).
