ABSTRACT

This chapter details the work that was performed in regards to a pressure regulator to improve the reliability and performance. The team took a Six Sigma approach to its investigation into the variation seen in the outlet flows of the specified valve. The define, measure, analyze, improve, and control (DMAIC) methodology was employed throughout the project. The team analyzed the current configuration, developed strategies to improve it, and then tested the strategies. The results of the testing were encouraging, as the outlet flow was increased and the variation reduced. The full report is included in the following sections.
