ABSTRACT
Introduction The role of open-source intelligence (OSINT) in information security operations includes the identification, assessment, collection, and exploitation of information in support of corporate and public-sector technical intelligence requirements specifically in information systems (IT/IS) operations. Open-source information acquired through information security operations provides rapid performance and vulnerability assessments of potential and actual hackers, giving a critical edge to private-and public-sector current/future information technology operations.
