Technological Design of Optical Bacterial Biosensors for the Online Environmental Monitoring of Water Pollutants

Biosensors developed over the last 10 years mainly touch on 3

business sectors: environmental monitoring, food processing, and

the medical industry. Their user-friendliness, moderate cost, and

short response time are interesting arguments in favor of these

biological tools. Consequently, these biological methods seem to

be attractive devices for simultaneous monitoring of both the

bioavailable fraction of pollutants and their toxicity level.
