ABSTRACT
This chapter starts in Cuba with its unique approach to international medical cooperation and concludes with global solidarity in the White Ribbon Alliance.
The chapter explores the theory and practice of international development and aid, and reviews the various global health initiatives which are designed to improve health for everyone in low and middle income countries. It considers what the future may look like in going beyond aid to make improvements for the whole world.
