ABSTRACT
This chapter starts with the “choked pipes” of Pakistan’s health system and ends with discussion of what an effective African system might look like.
The Governments of the world are committed to massive expansion of health care through introducing universal health coverage and making sure nobody is left behind. This chapter addresses some of the big underlying issues about health systems, the important roles that governments and governance plays, funding and the relationships between the public and private sectors.
