ABSTRACT

Introduction Endovascular interventions have enjoyed an explosive growth over the last decade. As the number of endovascular procedures being performed each year continues to rise, so does the demand for technologies to improve patient care. Designing the endovascular suite requires careful planning so that all necessary options are taken into consideration. First of all it is important to know who will be using the room. Will it be a vascular surgeon, cardiothoracic surgeon, interventional cardiologist, or interventional radiologist? Consequently, a multidisciplinary team should be created to determine the optimal environment for performing combined surgical and endovascular procedures.
