ABSTRACT
The main objectives of this chapter are to describe the salient features of the experience with monitoring the process of privatization and to attempt to identify and analyse some of the major factors which have influenced the thinking on both the monitoring and regulatory functions in Pakistan. It should then be possible to formulate the parameters of an effective system for the most appropriate monitoring of privatization and for the regulation of the enterprises which are privatized.
