ABSTRACT

This final chapter has three related aims. First, we consider the implications of the findings from this two-year research project in terms of their relevance and utility in developing a European model of HRD. Second, having reported the results of a panEuropean research project exploring the connections between HRD practices and lifelong learning in learning-oriented organisations, here, we wish to engage in a critical examination of the concepts of HRD, learning-oriented organisations and lifelong learning. Third, we examine the potentialities and limitations of collaborative and comparative research based on the experience of this project.
