ABSTRACT
Although concerns have been raised about the negative impacts of trade liberalization, there is little attention to, and research on, the differentiated impact of trade agreements on women and men, and even less on the two-way relationship between gender and trade. As has been argued in this volume, the pattern of gender relations is importantly related to trade, while at the same time gender relations do influence trade outcomes.
