ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a short conclusion for the book, drawing together the importance of human rights and some of the upcoming debates that should be considered. Current debates discussed in this chapter include the rights of non-human animals, the rights of nature, and the role of national and regional human rights frameworks in the United Nations system. Regarding the last of these debates, this chapter asks whether these frameworks strengthen or weaken the United Nations system and the universal declaration of human rights.
