ABSTRACT
A discussion of the interdisciplinary field, known in many academic circles as Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER). Awareness of the central issues and problems of the field is important and the various approaches are considered. Selection of materials is a major task, and this is the central focus of the paper.
