ABSTRACT

This chapter presents how Chef Martin Yan was and his showmanship with his gigantic Chinese chef’s knife. One might say that Martin Yan is one of the most famous Chinese American chefs globally, but that would neglect to give him credit for also being one of the funniest TV chefs. In the US, there are more Chinese restaurant operations than all the fast food chains combined. There are well over 52,000 restaurants serving Chinese food. The growth of Chinese restaurant businesses has continued in leaps and bounds. Chinese food is affordable and offers a variety of ingredients and flavors—there’s something for everybody. Most people have tasted Chinese food and Asian dishes. The acceptance of Chinese food in America is no longer just fast food anymore. Chinese restaurants in India are basically a fusion of Cantonese cuisine with a little twist of Indian flavor.
