ABSTRACT

This chapter will present the best practices for the education of therapists, students, and other health professionals on the role of physical activity within life-threatening illnesses. These will include integration of palliative care clinical approaches from the classroom to clinical experiences. There are a growing number of certifications and training courses that are offered to assist clinicians in improving their cognitive, affective, or psychomotor skills for caring for these individuals. This chapter discusses key resources and provides case examples of a variety of educational offerings to improve the knowledge, skills, and integration of therapists within palliative care.
