ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a critical reflection of a unique international semi-collaborative research process referring to different actions taken at every stage. The research project was born as an initiative of the members of the Research and Development Community (RDC) called the Professional Development of Teacher Educators (PDTE) that operates in the framework of the Association for Teacher Education in Europe. International research is an opportunity to expand knowledge and professional dialogue between researchers, to process data collected from a diverse sample of participants originating in different countries, and to examine differences and generics in professional concepts of people from the same profession. Presenting the steps in a semi-collaborative international research project in depth and critically affords a clear and comprehensive picture of the research and provides a useful model for researchers interested in carrying out similar research.
