ABSTRACT

This chapter comes at a time when scholarly interest in entrepreneurs’ affect is burgeoning. To spur the development of this research stream, we provide an integrative review of entrepreneurial affect literature based on 71 journal articles over the most recent 10-year period (2008-2018). We first conceptualize constructs that are related to entrepreneurial affect. Following that, we provide an overall framework for antecedents, consequences, and moderators of relationships involving positive affect, negative affect, affect activation, and displayed affect within the entrepreneurship context. To close, we identify several knowledge gaps in the entrepreneurial affect literature and offer several suggestions for future research.
