ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we study the level as well as the determinants of the use of modern inputs. The modern inputs discussed concern mineral fertilizer and improved rice varieties. In each section a general overview of the specific situation for the modern inputs in Madagascar is given. Then, the results of the household surveys are discussed. The chapter finishes with conclusions.
