ABSTRACT

Resilience is a general human characteristic, so resilience interventions can be applied to people of any age. Naturally, the development of resilience initiates within the bond that forms between a newborn and her/his parents. In this chapter, two health visitors relate their experiences of working with resilience in their meetings with children, young people and parents, illustrated by case stories. Their experiences illustrate how mentalising stories and questions can be used to stimulate the development of resilience.
