ABSTRACT
Partiality not only comes through changes in the worlds geographers seek to study, but also by changes in how geographers see those worlds. This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book emphasises that geography is a very contested discipline with a whole series of different approaches and ways of doing geography emerging at a seemingly ever-increasing rate. It seeks to make accessible many of these changes and to highlight their significance in substantive studies of human geography. However, not only have new philosophies affected how traditional topics of geographical research have been understood and examined, but have brought forth new topics for investigation by geographers. Attention has been drawn to the emergence of new research areas such as 'imaginative geographies', 'difference' and 'otherness'.
