ABSTRACT

Violence has long been considered a global public health crisis that requires strategic responses to address its causes and consequences (Dahlberg & Krug, 2002). The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the development sector have prioritised violence prevention, including emphasis on vulnerable populations, especially children, to address the cycle of violence (United Nations Secretary General, 2011; UNICEF, 2014). Recent research indicates that Malawi has endemic rates of violence against children that require a strategic response.
