The status of religious organizations in Poland

The Polish Constitution of 2 April 1997 is one of rather few constitutions which – next to the principle of equality of all persons before the law – expressis verbis includes the principle of equal rights of all religious organizations. According to Article 25 para. 1, ‘Churches and other religious organizations shall have equal rights.’ ¹
