ABSTRACT

The geopolitical-economic-social underpinnings of the global systems of food, energy and water are increasingly interconnected. While the concepts of food security, energy security and water security have been defi ned, they are still often framed as being linked to resource scarcity, human security and poverty eradication, neglecting the major climate risks we now face. Advocates continue to put forward rather static technical solutions and policy frameworks to secure water, food and energy for growing populations, based upon received knowledge and best practices.
