ABSTRACT
For those who wish to be an architect, the established path is highly formalized and notoriously rigorous with multiple required thresholds culminating in professional licensure. Knowledge and expertise are accumulated through an accredited academic education, a lengthy and highly regulated internship, and licensing exams. This process has seen only modest modifications in the past fifty years. Social and economic pressures have begun to challenge this homogeneous method and many have begun to question the one-size-fits-all nature of this process.
