ABSTRACT

Using the Person-Environment-Occupation Model of Occupational Performance as a framework, this article examines the needs and characteristics of caregivers whose husbands have dementia based upon the authors’ research as occupational therapy students and existing literature. The authors’ experiences as student researchers are emphasized. In addition, the role of occupational therapists in caregiver intervention is discussed.
