ABSTRACT
The events of 9/11 influenced all of us in different ways. I was not directly involved in the New York City, Washington, DC, or Pennsylvania rescue efforts nor suffered any losses of loved ones in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. However, the events of that dreadful event actively influenced my role as an occupational therapist. I had been invited to give a keynote presentation November 2. The story below reflects thoughts that crossed my mind as I felt a need to incorporate the ways that the attacks on America influenced us all after 9/11. The keynote address was to be given to occupational therapists at a state fall conference.
