ABSTRACT

Like other developing economies, Morocco struggles against very compelling social and economic issues such as unemployment, food security, education, healthcare and human development. To cope with these structural issues, to lay the foundation for inclusive growth, and to achieve the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), social entrepreneurship offers very promising paths toward sustainable and inclusive solutions. Yet, it is critical first to create an environment conducive enough for social innovations to blossom and grow into successful inclusive businesses. In this chapter, two such businesses spun off from a social incubator, Enactus Morocco, are presented, and lessons stemming from such experiences are drawn and discussed.
