ABSTRACT
As you read this chapter, two phenomena are taking place in the beginning of what has been termed The Internet Century. The population is growing ever older, and reliance on electronic technology is rapidly climbing. Several questions arise from these facts. Are older adults able to benefit from this electronic technology? Can they use it? The next two questions focus on barriers to the use of electronic technology by the elderly. What is currently being brought about to expand its use by older adults? Finally, what are the other issues that must be addressed to increase utilization by older adults?
