ABSTRACT

A number of countries have realized the effective monitoring and management of marine oil spills through constructing the three-dimensional monitoring and management system which combines artificial satellite, remote sensing monitoring aircraft, and offshore patrol ship. Remote sensing technology is a kind of detection technology emerging in the 1960s. It mainly uses various remote sensors to collect, process and finally image the electromagnetic wave information radiated and reflected by remote targets, so as to achieve the purpose of detecting and recognizing various objects on the ground. Aerial remote sensing is one of the most important and effective surveillance measures. Under the comprehensive action of various marine environmental dynamic factors, oil spills have a random dynamic nature. Synthetic Aperture Radar, as a high-resolution active remote sensing system, has been widely used in oil spill monitoring. It can realize semi-automatic extraction of marine oil spill information, and has the advantages of all-weather and all-day monitoring and strong penetrating power.
