ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the study of peanut pod lineage relationships and variety clustering method and the influence of principal component analysis characteristic dimension reduction for variety clustering. Pod is an important organ of peanut and the distinctness, uniformity and stability (DUS) testing according to the observation and analysis of pod shape and size is a very important aspect for breeding a new peanut variety. Image processing is carried out by a new plant DUS testing technology. Clustering method is a multivariate statistical method that classifies the samples or variables according to the similarity degree of nature. It can classify the multi-index data. The fruit type of normal peanut pods is different because of different varieties and producing areas, and this is the interaction of dietary and environmental factors in genetics which are expressed in appearance by different characteristics such as shape, color and texture. Clustering according to the characteristics can bring great convenience to the follow-up statistical analysis and research.
