ABSTRACT

Conducting the audit depends on the type of audit. This chapter focuses on practical advice on how to deal with Documentation and On-Site Audits, what to check, what to ask, to what to pay attention, and how to get information to achieve that which is intended. Auditing documentation is done in the Regulator offices. Auditing the equipment inside the companies is not a big deal. Auditing software can be done only by checking if the software is certified for use in Risky Industries, but auditing hardware is different. The auditor should check and compare the education and licenses/certificates with the job description of few positions which they find representative for the some of the operations in the company. Also, the auditors must understand that the Safety Objectives are a life document and they can be changeable, simply because they are usually covering period of one year.
