ABSTRACT

Electronic sensors which act on occurrence on an event and transmission takes place digitally are referred as digital sensors. This chapter discusses the basic of digital sensors and its features. It discusses the interfacing of digital sensors with 8051 and NuttyFi with the help of circuit diagram and programming. A push button is the simplest example of a digital sensor. The push button is an easy switch mechanism. PIR is a passive infrared device, which measures infrared (IR) light diverging from objects in its field of read. The objects with a temperature emit radiation, which is not visible to the human eye and falls in infrared wavelength range. A flame sensor is designed to detect the presence of a fire in the surroundings. It can be used in the applications like industrial furnaces, home safety, etc. A flame sensor responds or will respond quicker and accurate than a smoke or heat detector.
