ABSTRACT

The body parts of an animal are divided into four parts: head, neck, trunk and tail. The muzzle is the black portion above the upper lip. During sound health it is moist, while it is dry during sickness. The functions of horn are: self defence, estimation of age and for graceful appearance. In some of the animals horns are completely absent called as “polled animal”. The neck region is divided into two parts: neck crest and brisket, which is a fleshy ball like structure hanging in between two forelegs. The trunk region consists of different parts such as wither, hind quarter, and udder. The tail region is a long whipe like structure in continuation of vertebral column. The proximal end attached to sacrum is called as root of tail or base of tail. Middle part of the tail is as body of tail and distal part of the tail is covered with hairy bunch on the tip of the tail.
