ABSTRACT

This chapter suggests that simultaneous confidence intervals for the multinomial parameters. V. J. Chacko derived a test for alternative hypothesis setup based on the Pearson chi-squared statistic. Blood types for family members, on the other hand, are dependent and cannot appropriately be described by the multinomial distribution. The Pearson chi-squared test for the multinomial parameters is also a score test. The Pearson chi-squared test is a remarkably good test even for small sample sizes. Because of its computational simplicity—it has an uncomplicated closed-form expression—the Pearson chi-squared test is a very attractive choice of test for the multinomial parameters. The evaluation of tests for the multinomial parameters are based on calculations of actual significance levels and power.
