ABSTRACT

The start of the FinTech revolution can in some ways be attributed to the initial start-ups in North America that saw an opportunity in the financial crisis of 2008 and the subsequent collapse of big banks globally. In the following decade, the start-ups globally seized the opportunity to disrupt the conventional financial industry, that has now transformed itself into a revolution. Since the financial crisis started in the United States, resulting in the emergence of the FinTech start-ups, the United States has a large share of the global FinTechs. A large number of all FinTech globally are from the United States. The United States accounts for more than half of the world's FinTechs. The United States has about half of the world's millionaires and has the most funding being raised by FinTech companies. Although a large number of FinTechs are from the United States, Europe and the UK are also picking up in terms of the FinTech industry.
