ABSTRACT
In this book we have discussed basic principles as well as algorithmic improvements in the context of genetic algorithms (GAs) and genetic programming (GP); new problem independent theoretical concepts have been described which are used in order to substantially increase achievable solution qualities. The application of these concepts to significant combinatorial optimization problems as well as structure identification in time series analysis and classification has also been described.
