ABSTRACT
A cornerstone of the pharmaceutical industry is the understanding that quality cannot be tested into a product. It must instead be designed into facilities and systems that will ultimately produce finished drug products. The ultimate use of biotech and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities demands that quality standards be met in facility design and construction, not just in operations. This is demanded by the industry, by regulatory agencies, and by consumers.
