ABSTRACT
A number of amino acids are produced annually in large tonnage for industrial applications. In particular,
-glutamic acid (mainly as monosodium glutamate),
-phenylalanine,
-aspartic acid, and glycine are produced as human food additives and
-lysine,
-threonine,
-methionine, and
-
tryptophan are manufactured as animal feed additives.
