ABSTRACT
The forensic engineer practicing in the field of traffic accident reconstruction attempts to provide insight into the essential character of such mishaps. The field has been recognized by the legal system for a long time, since at least 1920 [Williams 19821. In that Wisconsin case, which involved a truck that struck a pedestrian ~ 7 h o was trying to board a streetcar, the court admitted into evidence an opinion based on slzid marks.
