ABSTRACT
As discussed in Chapter 10, fuel-cell vehicles face the problem of hydrogen storage. Consumers perceive an onboard storage tank as a safety issue. However, a much larger issue is tank size. Hydrogen can be stored as a compressed gas, in a rechargeable metal hydride, in a hydride compound that releases hydrogen when reacted with water, through a cooled liquid, or through adsorption on a surface [1].
