ABSTRACT
The main purpose of water supply companies is to provide drinking water to various types of customers. Reliability, availability, safety and efficiency are key parameters that describe the performance of the supply service. Failure of the drinking water network implies costs (direct, indirect and social) (Makar & Kleiner, 2000) and these are often financially unsustainable for the water companies. Therefore, prevention of failure is a major concern for the water companies.
