ABSTRACT

CHAPTER3 Noise Reduction, and Design lor Sound Quality In this chapter we discuss the mechanical analysis part of our approach to designing for product sound quality in more detail. Once the criteria for the product sound have been established as discussed in Chapter 2, we need to proceed to the actual physical design of the product that will meet the goals. What are the things the acoustical specialist needs to think about as the product design evolves, and how can his/her expertise solve sound quality problems consistent with other nonacoustical requirements?
