Other Wells as Sources of Contamination

Other deep wells are sources of groundwater contamina­ tion, and such wells include those completed in association with oil production [URL Ref. No. 245] and exploration ac­ tivities, mining, geothermal energy production [URL Ref. No. 248], sewage treatment, desalination, radioactive waste disposal [URL Ref. No. 307], and underground gas storage (Lacombe et al., 1995).
