ABSTRACT

Cultural Practices for Crop Disease Management Cultural practices influence the incidence and spread of crop diseases to varying magnitude. The effects of cultural practices may vary widely from region to region and may be difficult to assess, since beneficial effects become apparent slowly over a period of several years or seasons. The influence of major cultural practices on pathogen inoculum and consequently disease incidence and subsequent spread, and on plant growth conditions resulting in changes in the levels of resistance, is discussed in this chapter.
