ABSTRACT
In addition to the nonlinear deformation/fracture processes in the crack-tip frontal zone due to microcracking, the dislocation in the graphite basal planes, twin ning, as well as the phase-transformation from hexagonal to rhombohedral stacking may yield rather important nonlinear deformation processes in the crack-tip frontal zone [KeUy (1981)].
