Regimen yields stability. It is what Rasmusson learned on the ranch as a youth. Rasmusson woke up exactly at 5:01 A.M.; he no longer needed an alarm. While yet in an early-morning stupor, he found his jogging clothes automatically. Coming out of the closet, he noticed Rose asleep in her bed. Last night when he came home, she was not there; she had said she would be late. He had found leftovers for dinner, watched the news, and then worked on the problem of harmonically resonant EMP. Simply listing all the impinging factors, like local ferromagnetic material, electrostatics, piezoelectric effect, cosmic radiation, and many more, had worn him down and sedated him, so he went to bed without waiting for Rose. He watched her now. She rolled over in bed and lay her arm across her head. She would wake in another hour, get showered, get a cup of coffee, and do her yoga. After he showered and dressed, they would sit down to breakfast together and then start the day.
