ABSTRACT

New Zealand is a democratic country that occupies a land area approximately the same size as Great Britain but with an elongated shape that is divided into two main islands. is geography greatly influences how business is conducted, how the population there is dispersed, and our weather variations. It also means the police are required to carry out a wide variety of roles that vary from district to district, o¯en dependent on the topography and climate. An obvious example of this would be search and rescue requirements in a mountainous, bush-clad country, as compared to a similar operation in a seaside region.
