ABSTRACT
Now more than ever, engineers must be aware that they impact more than just their local community-they impact the world and the events of the world impact them. Civil engineers in particular must be aware that their decisions and actions can have rippling effects on the environment, health, and lifestyle of people around the globe. We can attribute much of this newfound in¥uence to globalization.
