ABSTRACT
Let’s say my ship left New York at noon on the 10th and arrived in Lisbon at noon on the 18th. Then, the first ship I count left Lisbon at noon on the 2nd, and the last ship is leaving just as my ship arrives at noon on the 18th. We are, at this time, 16 days (or 32 half days) into our journey. Since we start our count at the time of departure and conclude it at the time of arrival, I counted 33 ships traveling in the opposite direction.
