ABSTRACT
Using the relevant SOP, manufacturer’s manual and the instruments, explain the action and uses of the solvent, pumps, column, detector and any integrating/ computing device used.
Include in the explanation: the types of solvents used for different separation, purity of solvents and importance of de-gassing; the connection care and use of columns; cleaning and storage procedures, and so on, use of sample valves, auto sampler, and so on; use of detector and pump and the potential hazards involved (©ammability of solvents, high pressure, and so on UV radiation); use of pumps for isocratic or solvent; ©ow programming.
